Update #1 5:18pm Further investigation into the deceased body found at Pinckneyville Park in unincorporated Peachtree Corners has been determined to be a suicide.  The gunshot wound was self-inflicted.  The name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

Original 2:21pm (Peachtree Corners, Georgia) May 21, 2018 at around 10:00 am, Gwinnett County Police was notified of a body found at Pinckneyville Park.  A landscaper located a deceased middle-aged Caucasian male in a ditch next to a pavilion near the baseball fields.  The male appeared to have suffered from a gunshot wound.   A backpack and firearm were located near the body. 

The homicide unit responded due to suspicious circumstances.  Investigators are working to confirm the male’s identity and notify family members before releasing his identity.
