UPDATE #1: Double Shooting Suspect Identified, Warrants

Update #1, 07/20/2017: The lead detective has identified today’s shooting suspect as Trevaughn McBrier (age 18 – pictured included in attached Media Release).  McBrier currently has two active warrants for Aggravated Assault and one warrant for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.  He has not yet been captured and is still considered armed and dangerous. 

The victims have been identified as Andre Devost (age 30, Snellville) and Lashaud Smith (age 14, Snellville).  All three subjects (both victims and suspect) all reside on Highpoint Court.  Both victims are expected to survive their injuries. 

We encourage anyone with information with McBrier’s whereabouts to contact GCPD or Crime Stoppers. 

Original, 07/20/2017: (Snellville, Georgia)  The Gwinnett County Police Department is currently at the scene of a double shooting on Highpoint Court in unincorporated Snellville.  Two shooting victims were originally taken to Eastside Medical in a private vehicle.  The staff at Eastside called GCPD at 11:19am to notify us that they had received victims who were suffering from gunshot wounds. 

It was later determined that the shooting occurred in the area of 3292 Highpoint Court.  Officers responded to the scene and found evidence of the shooting.  A vehicle was found abandoned in front of the home. 

The shooter has not yet been captured.  He is described as a light skinned black male in his early 20s, facial hair, afro, white short, camo shorts, white sneakers, possibly armed. 

  • Victim #1: Male, 30s, shot in face, stable, at Grady
  • Victim #2: Juvenile male, shot in back, non-life threatening, Grady

The motivation for the shooting is unknown, but it is believed that the suspect and victims knew one another. 

Assisting with the investigation and search of the suspect is: Homicide/Assault Unit, Special Investigations Section, Crime Scene Unit, Aviation Unit, K9 Unit, Full-time SWAT team (not a SWAT activation), and Motors Unit.
