Victim's Face Grazed by Bullet, Help Identify the Suspects

(Duluth, Georgia)  The Gwinnett County Police Department needs the public’s help in identifying two suspects responsible for a shooting in January.  The lead investigator is hoping that by releasing photos of the suspects, someone will come forward and tell us who the men are.

On Friday, January 29, around 4:30am, officers assigned to the Central Precinct were dispatched to a Person Shot call at Gwinnett Medical Center in Duluth.  The victim, Timothy Yang (age 24, Peachtree Corners) arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound to his face.  Fortunately, the wound was superficial; the bullet just grazed his forehead.  He was discharged after receiving treatment.

According to the report, Yang visited Dansungsa restaurant at 3530 Mall Boulevard in unincorporated Duluth to visit a female friend.  The victim arrived around 4am and met up with another friend named John Chong.  The two men were escorted to a back room to meet Paulyn Monasterio.  Monasterio was in the room with two Asian males and another unidentified man.  Upon seeing Monasterio, Yang approached to give her a hug.  One of the Asian males got up and said, “No, No, No,” and pushed Yang.

Yang and Chong approached the Asian male.  The man produced a handgun and pointed it directly at Yang’s face.  Chong, who was standing between the Asian male and Yang, pushed the gunman’s arm and a shot was fired.  Yang looked down and saw blood.  Everyone ran out of the restaurant, and Yang’s friends drove him to the hospital.

Suspect #1:  Asian male, small frame, some facial hair

Suspect #2:  Asian male, heavy, no facial hair

Vehicle:        Black SUV
