BOARD APPROVES INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS AT DUKE STEM SCHOOL IN NORCROSS

(Lawrenceville, Ga., Aug. 3, 2017) – The Board of Commissioners approved SPLOST-funded intersection improvements on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard at the Duke STEM High School in Norcross during a business session on July 18.

“I am thankful to see these traffic improvements completed before the new STEM high school opens its doors next year,” said District 2 Commissioner Lynette Howard. “It’s a good way to welcome a new school into our community. Paul Duke, the school’s namesake and the founder of the nearby Technology Park would be proud.”

The project will install a new traffic signal, dual left-turn lanes, a right-turn lane and sidewalk ramps on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard at the main entrance to the school. A right-turn lane will also be constructed on Peachtree Industrial at the second entrance to the school. Curb and gutter and drainage improvements are part of the construction.

CMES Inc. was the lowest of 10 responsive bidders at $648,991. This project is located near Reps Miller Road and Peachtree Corners East.
