(Lawrenceville Ga. September 14, 2012) Where do you go in October when the county fair has left town and the state fair is too far? And is FREE? Try Coolray Field – The home of the Gwinnett Braves - on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Gwinnett County’s Finest and Bravest Firefighters and Police Officers will partner with the G-Braves for the Third Annual Public Safety Fall Festival. “This festival demonstrates Gwinnett County’s commitment to public safety for our residents. This fun, free, educational event will feature the best of Gwinnett,” said Lieutenant Colin Rhoden, Gwinnett County Fire Public Information Officer.
Save the date and take the family out for fun at the field. The festival is free and open to all ages and will showcase several public safety attractions and entertainment. Cheer for either the Fire Department’s softball team or the Police Department’s softball team as they play on the G-Braves ball field. This long-standing rivalry will be played as other events go on at the ballpark. Events include a car & motorcycle show, SWAT & Fire demonstrations, displays of a helicopter & other emergency vehicles, and much, much more. Free booths are available to individuals or groups with a safety related theme and others can be purchased by contacting the Gwinnett Braves.
Coolray Field is located at 2500 Buford Drive in Lawrenceville. For more information, contact the Gwinnett Police Crime Prevention Unit at 770.338.4170 extension 5754 or Gwinnett Fire Community Risk Reduction-Education Section at 678.518.4845.
