Firefighters responded at 3:34 p.m., to a bystander report of an overturned dump truck that was off the roadway in the 3500 block of Thompson Mill Road, NE near West Rock Quarry Road in (unincorporated) Buford. 

Crews arrived to find the male driver conscious and breathing.   He was transported to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville with non-life threatening injuries.  Thompson Mill Road was temporarily blocked because of the accident.  The truck was carrying a load of sand when it left the roadway and overturned.  The fire department’s Hazmat Unit was requested to stop a slight fuel leak from saddle tank.  The scene was turned over to Gwinnett County Police for accident report handling.
