(Norcross, Georgia)  The Gwinnett County Police Department Accident Investigation Unit is investigating a fatality accident that occurred overnight.  The incident took place around 1 AM on Singleton Road near Thompson Parkway in unincorporated Norcross.  There were three vehicles involved.

Miguel Maldonado-Lemus (age 70, Lilburn) was driving a black motorcycle.  It is believed that he was attempting to make a right turn onto Singleton Road from a private drive. 

The driver of a grey Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on Singleton Road in the left lane. 

Miguel turned in front of the Toyota causing them to collide.  He was thrown off the motorcycle and landed in the westbound lanes.  While he was in the lying in the roadway, he was struck by a grey Nissan Sentra traveling westbound on Singleton Road. 

Miguel Maldonado-Lemus died as a result of his injuries.  There were no other reported injuries to the other drivers.  They both remained at the scene. 

All three vehicles were impounded to GCPD Headquarters for further analysis.  Notification has been made to Miguel’s next-of-kin.
