Homicide - Adriana Hamilton (3 months old)

(Peachtree Corners, Georgia)  The Gwinnett County Police Department Homicide Unit is actively investigating the homicide of a 3 month old baby girl.  A medical call came into the 911 Center on Saturday, September 9.  The complaint was for a baby having breathing problems at 11400 Springs Lane Apt D in Peachtree Corners.  GCFD transported the infant girl to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite.

The hospital staff noticed injuries that were inconsistent with her initial medical problems.  Among her injuries were fractured ribs and a brain bleed.

The case was assigned to a detective.  The lead detective determined that the injuries to the child occurred in the father’s custody.  The father, Charles Hamilton, was at the child’s home on September 9 caring for her while the baby’s mother went to a laundromat to clean clothes.

Charles Hamilton (age 44, Atlanta) has not been seen or heard from since September 12.  The baby died on September 13.  An autopsy was conducted on the baby, and it revealed significant head trauma.  It is because of the autopsy results that this case is being considered a homicide.

Charles has active warrants for Murder, Cruelty to Children, and Aggravated Battery.  Charles is a black male, about 5 feet 6 inches, 155 lbs.  His last known address was on Roswell Road in Atlanta.  Charles may be driving a 2008 GMC Yukon (tan) with license plate number:  TRINI3.  The front license plate displayed is a flag of Trinidad.

Though all homicides are tragic, it is truly heart-breaking when the victim is an infant.  Because of Adrian’s premature death, we will never know her true potential.  We pray that her mother will find solace in knowing that Charles has been charged with this heinous crime.

If anyone has any information to share in this case or knows of Charles’s whereabouts, please contact GCPD detectives at 770-513-5300.  To remain anonymous, tipsters should contact Crime Stoppers at 404-577-TIPS (8477) or visit www.crimestoppersatlanta.org.  Crime Stoppers tipsters can receive up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.  Case Number:  17-084115
