Update #1, 11/20/2017: The deceased victim has been identified as Zachary Nelson (age 16, Norcross). The other victim, who was shot in the arm, has been identified as Noah Fullilove (age 17, Norcross). 

Shortly after the early morning shooting, officers began patrolling the area searching for the suspect(s).  They found two suspicious males on bicycles nearby.  The males matched the descriptions provided at the original scene.  Omar Ramos (age 16, Norcross) and Ronaldo Cruz (age 14, Norcross) were detained and questioned.  It was later determined that they were involved in the homicide.

The lead detective charged Omar and Ronaldo with the following crimes:

Omar Ramos:        Murder x 1
                              Armed Robbery x 2
                              Aggravated Assault x 2

Ronaldo Cruz:        Murder x 1
                              Armed Robbery x 2

At this point in the investigation, it appears as though robbery was the motive for the crime.

Due to their ages, both Omar and Ronaldo were initially processed at the Gwinnett County Jail and then later taken to a local youth detention facility.  (Please contact the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office for booking information.)

It is our hope that the arrest of the two suspects in this case will start to bring closure for the Nelson and Fullilove families.

Original, 11/18/2017: (Norcross, Georgia) Gwinnett County Police are investigating the death of a male at the Rockbridge Court Apartment Complex (2232 Rockbridge Court) in unincorporated Norcross.  Uniform officers were in the area on an unrelated matter when they heard approximately three gunshots just after 4 am.  Officers began searching the complex when a male approached one of them.  This victim was suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm.  The victim told officers there was a second victim nearby.  Officers did locate the second male victim and he was determined to be deceased from a gunshot wound.

The surviving victim was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital and his current condition is unknown.  Homicide detectives and members of the Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene.

Detectives are canvassing the apartment complex in an attempt to identify any possible witnesses to this tragic incident.

There is no suspect information available at this time.

The deceased victim’s information is not being released at this time pending notification of the next of kin.  The surviving victim’s information is also being withheld.  The exact relationship between the two victims is unknown at this time.  Detectives do not believe either victim is responsible for the shooting.

This incident remains under investigation.
