(City, Georgia)  The Georgia Bureau of Investigations is investigating an officer involved shooting involving a Gwinnett County Police Officer. 

Shortly before 7pm, detectives assigned to the Gang Unit were following up on possible criminal gang activity at 1989 Prospect Road in unincorporated Lawrenceville.  When officers arrived, they began to hear yelling at the rear of the home.  As they began to investigate the source of the screaming, they found their way through the woods and onto the property of 1329 Alpha Drive (directly behind the home).

When officers approached the property, they heard at least one gunshot. They soon found the suspect on the back deck of the home arguing with the resident.  The suspect aimed the gun at his head, and the officers ordered him to drop his gun. 

The suspect moved his gun in the direction of the officers.  One officer fired at the suspect striking him in the arm. 

The suspect was transported to a local hospital.  His name and possible charges will be released at a later time.
