Bonds can be posted at any time. Bond amounts are predetermined by the Sheriff’s Bond Schedule or set by a judge. If you want to post a bond you may do so by one of four methods:
Cash bonds are generally for traffic offenses, other minor offenses, misdemeanor violations, and civil cases.
A property bond can be posted by a person owning equity in real estate within Gwinnett County. The property must be deeded land and/or buildings or structures.
Professional Bonding Companies
Professional bonding companies licensed as businesses in Gwinnett County and registered with the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office are available. Choosing a bonding company is your responsibility. Employees of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office are restricted by law and cannot recommend bondsman.
Bonds up to $5,000 may be posted online at www.CashBondOnline.com. Instructions and procedures are on the website.
NOTE: If you are released on bond and fail to appear for court, you will be re-arrested on a bench warrant, which may have no bond.
