Emergency Management hosts public meeting for Multijurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan

The Gwinnett County Office of Emergency Management invites the community to attend a public meeting Friday, July 12 to discuss the 2020 Multijurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan update.

At the meeting, attendees will receive an overview of the plan update and the county’s identified hazards. Current and future mitigation projects that were identified during the planning process will also be discussed.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency requires five-year updates for the plan to be eligible for federal funding for planning and capital projects to address problems covered in the plan, such as flooding. The Gwinnett County Office of Emergency Management is a unit of the Gwinnett County Police Department and handles tasks including planning for emergencies and disasters, coordinating responses to incidents, directing hazard mitigation, and assisting Gwinnett County Government and its residents in recovery after an incident.

The open public meeting is scheduled for 2:00pm at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center in conference room A, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville. You do not need to RSVP to attend.
