GWINNETT FIRE MEDIA ALERT UPDATE: GAS LEAK OUTSIDE – 4400 BLOCK OF LAWRENCEVILLE HIGHWAY NW, LILBURN

Atlanta Gas and Light has secured the leak and is in the process of moving equipment around.  This incident did not require any evacuations.  Everyone was sheltered in place.  The roadway will be reopened shortly and firefighters will be returning to service.

GWINNETT FIRE MEDIA ALERT: GAS LEAK OUTSIDE – 4400 BLOCK OF LAWRENCEVILLE HIGHWAY NW, LILBURN

Firefighters are currently on the scene of a gas leak on the 4400 block of Lawrenceville Highway NW in Lilburn. A crew struck a 4-inch main gas line.  Lawrenceville Highway has been shut down in both directions at Wynne Russell Drive.  Atlanta Gas and Light has been notified and are en route to the incident.

The PIO is not responding to the scene at this time and updates will be sent when available.
