GWINNETT FIRE NEWS RELEASE UPDATE - Weather Related Incidents for April 19, 2019

(Lawrenceville, Ga., April 19, 2019) – Fire and Emergency Services personnel are continuing to respond to incidents due to the weather. The following is a brief synopsis of the active incidents as of 10:47am.

TREES/WIRES DOWN:

  • Tree down in roadway on Inglenook, SW in Lawrenceville.
  • Tree and power lines down Old Loganville Road, SW in Loganville.
  • Tree and power lines down on Flintrock Way, SW in Snellville.
  • Tree and power lines down on Ross Road, SW in Snellville.
  • Tree and power lines down on Rivercliff Drive, SW in Snellville.
  • Tree and power lines down on Temple Johnson Road, SW in Snellville.
  • Tree and power lines down on Harmony Grove Road, SW in Lilburn
  • Lightning struck a utility pole on West Garner Street, NE in Buford.
  • Tree and power lines down on Timberlane Road, SW in Lawrenceville. Crews found a tree blocking the roadway and requested the power company.  

 

ASSIST CITIZEN/FLOODING:

  • Mountainbrooke Circle, SW in Stone Mountain. Caller advised she was not able to leave her home due to an overflowing creek.

GWINNETT FIRE MEDIA ALERT: WEATHER RELATED INCIDENTS-APRIL 19, 2019

Firefighters have responded to numerous storm-related incidents this morning. There is a report of the following that I have available at the moment.

  • Tree on Apartment Building – 911 Concepts 21 Drive in Peachtree Corners. (No longer active)
  • House Fire- 160 block of Lake Run, SE in Lawrenceville. Lightning affected electrical components. No active fire on arrival. (No longer active)
  • Wires Down at Pleasant Hill Road and Summit Ridge Parkway.
  • Roadway Hazard - Henry Clower Boulevard and Scenic Highway in Snellville. Possible travel lane washed out. (Contact Snellville PD)
