UPDATE #1: INVESTIGATORS STILL TRYING TO SOLVE ARSON CASE THAT DESTROYED TWO TRACTOR TRAILERS

(Lawrenceville, Ga., December 12, 2018) Fire Investigators in Gwinnett County are still trying to determine who is responsible for intentionally setting a fire that destroyed two tractor trailers behind a business in unincorporated Lawrenceville. The incident occurred on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Levantina, located at 2499 Newpoint Place Parkway NW. The tractor portion of both rigs burned to the ground as a result of the arson.

According to Fire Investigators, an unknown individual made unlawful access to the property with the intent of causing severe damage to the vehicles. Fire Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect involved in the nefarious act and hope that the uniqueness in the appearance of the pickup truck used during the commission of the crime will help.

The pickup truck is described as a red dodge, with a silver hood, silver driver-side front quarter panel, silver gas cap cover, and the driver’s side headlight out. Fire Investigators are hopeful that someone will recognize the pickup truck used in the crime and provide helpful information to solve the case.

Anyone with information about the fire or the person responsible is asked to please contact the Gwinnett Fire Investigations Section at 678-518-4890 or the Georgia Arson Control Hotline at 1-800-282-5804.  Georgia Arson Control, Inc. offers a reward of UP TO $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for arson.  Tips may be made anonymously.

ARSON TO BLAME FOR DESTRUCTION OF TWO TRACTOR TRAILERS

Newpoint Place Parkway NW in Lawrenceville

(Lawrenceville, Ga., December 6, 2018) – Gwinnett County Fire Investigators say someone is responsible for intentionally starting a fire that destroyed two tractor trailers at Levantina located at 2499 Newpoint Place Parkway NW in unincorporated Lawrenceville.

On November 25, 2018 at 2:59 A.M., firefighters responded to the above location after multiple calls were placed into 9-1-1.  One caller stated that they “saw a large amount of smoke after hearing an explosion.”  The caller believed that a residential trailer was on fire but they were uncertain of the exact location.  They saw a vehicle driving off quickly but due to the distance and their visibility being obstructed by trees, they were unable to provide a good description of the vehicle.  A passerby also called and reported that “a tractor trailer was on fire behind a business.”

Fire Investigators do have video footage available at Vehicle Arson Case 11-25-18. The video shows what they believe to be a red dodge pickup truck with a silver hood and the driver’s side headlight out.  The pickup truck also has a silver driver side front quarter panel and silver gas cap cover.  Footage shows the suspect vehicle leaving the area immediately after the fire being set. To date, no suspects have been identified.

Anyone with information about the fire or the person(s) responsible is asked to contact the Gwinnett Fire Investigations Section at 678-518-4890 or the Georgia Arson Control Hotline at 1-800-282-5804.  Georgia Arson Control, Inc. offers a reward of UP TO $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for arson.  Tips may be made anonymously.
