TWO FIRES OUTSIDE HOME RULED ARSON
(Lawrenceville, Ga., August 21, 2018) – Gwinnett County Fire Investigators are trying to determine who is responsible for setting two small fires outside an occupied home in unincorporated Lawrenceville.
Firefighters responded to the address in the 1300 block of Dowry Drive on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 8:11 a.m. A woman who lives in the home discovered one of the smoldering fires when she went outside to walk the dog. The woman doused the fire with a garden hose before fire trucks arrived. The second smoldering area was found by fire personnel as they checked the property.
According to Fire Investigators, someone used an ignitable liquid to start two separate small fires on opposite corners of the house. The fires were found smoldering and caused minor cosmetic damage to part of an exterior siding board on one side of the house and scorched a flowerbed and wooden fence on the other side. There was no damage inside the home and no injuries were reported.
