Fatality – Braselton Hwy / Hamilton Creek Pkwy

(Dacula, Georgia)  The Gwinnett County Police Department Accident Investigation Unit is investigating a fatality accident that resulted in the death of a 27-year old man in Dacula. The original incident occurred on Saturday, February 15, at around 7:30pm.

According to the preliminary investigation, Braetan Petraro (age 27, Powder Springs) was traveling east on Braselton Highway approaching the Hamilton Creek Parkway intersection on his white motorcycle.  As he was continuing straight, the driver of a white Chevrolet Tahoe attempted to make a left turn in front of the motorcycle.  The vehicles collided.  Braetan was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. 

On Sunday, February 16, Braetan died as a result of his injuries in the collision.  The driver of the white Tahoe, Samuel Perry (age 63, Hoschton), has been charged with Homicide by Vehicle 2nd Degree and Failure to Yield Turning Left.  He has not yet been arrested, though he is aware of the charges.
