Update: (Lilburn, Ga., September 19, 2022) – The Gwinnett Police Homicide unit arrested Andre Marvell King (49-year-old male, from Lilburn, Ga) in the connection with the death of Celeste Lawson (29-year-old female, Bowdon, Ga). King is charged with Aggravated Assault and Felony Murder.

Original: (Lilburn, Ga., September 18, 2022) – The Gwinnett Police Department responded to a person shot call on Burns Road in Lilburn at approximately 8:30 P.M. for the report of a person down in the front yard of a residence.  When officers arrived, they initially located one female in her 20s suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Medical aid was rendered, but the female was pronounced deceased on scene.

The Gwinnett County Police Department’s Homicide and Crime Scene Investigations Units are currently on scene conducting the investigation.  At this time, the motive for the incident is unknown and no arrests have been made.  Gwinnett County Police investigators are asking the public to contact the police department with any information relevant to this investigation.
