(Buford, Ga., May 6, 2022) – Just before midnight Thursday May 5, a Gwinnett police officer on patrol in the Buford area saw two vehicles racing on Buford Hwy near Robert Bell Parkway. The officer pulled both vehicles over and arrested both drivers. Zackary Boyd (19 year old male, Sugar Hill) was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Street Racing, and several other traffic charges. Bennett Jewel (25 year old male, Sugar Hill) was charged on citation with Street Racing and released on scene. 

The dangerous and illegal practices of stunt driving and street racing are a danger to Gwinnett residents on our roads and the Gwinnett Police Department is committed to keeping our roadways safe. These activities risk injury and even death to participants and other motorists and they damage the roads costing taxpayers for repairs.
