Homicide – 1355 Graves Road, Norcross – Warrants – CAPTURED

Update #4, 12/06/2018: Heraclio Solis-Ortiz (56) was captured in Peru this morning.  The FBI is going to work with the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit to begin the extradition process.

Details surrounding his capture are not immediately known.

Update #3, 11/29/2018: Heraclio Solis-Ortiz (56) now has active warrants for his arrest.  The lead detective assigned to this case obtained Felony Murder and Aggravated Assault charges against him.  He is still NOT in custody.

Update #2, 11/27/2018: The detective assigned to this investigation is still seeking the whereabouts of Heraclio Solis-Ortiz (56).  He is considered a person-of-interest, and has not been charged in this case.  Heraclio is not known to drive a vehicle, so there is a possibility that he is still in the Norcross area. 

According to the lead detective, Heraclio has an active warrant for his arrest through the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office for Probation Violation. 

Heraclio is a Hispanic male who only speaks Spanish.  He is about 5 feet 7 inches tall.  He weighs about 180 lbs. with a muscular build.

Update #1, 11/24/2018: The victim in this case has been identified as Geremias Barrios Diaz (52). Diaz was found deceased in the apartment kitchen when one of his roommates returned home to apartment #L9. The roommate immediately contacted police at that time. The roommate reported to police that a third roommate, Heraclio Solis-Ortiz (56), may have been having an on-going dispute with the victim. At the time police arrived, all of Solis-Ortiz’s belongings had already been removed from the residence. Solis-Ortiz is being considered a person of interest at this point in the investigation and has no active warrants for his arrest. He is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 5’7”, muscular build, black hair, and green eyes. It is possible he is still in the area of the incident location. The exact cause of Diaz’s death has yet to be determined.

Original, 11/23/2018: At approximately 6:30 PM Gwinnett County Police Officers with the Westside Precinct were dispatched to an unknown medical problem at the 1355 Graves Road (Villas Del Camino Apartments). Officers arrived and located one victim, a Hispanic male (unknown age), who was determined to be deceased with signs of blunt force trauma. Due to observations made by the responding officers, the Gwinnett County Homicide Unit and the Crime Scene Unit were called to investigate and process the scene. The investigation is on-going.
