UPDATE #1: Homicide – Coleville Circle, Norcross

Update #1, 11/05/2019: The deceased has been identified as Roberto Pacheco (age 21). Santiago Torres Pacheco (age 17) was Roberto’s roommate and cousin.  Santiago was charged with Manufacturing Drugs and arrested in Athens, GA.  He was booked in to the Gwinnett County Jail on Saturday, November 2. 

No one has been charged with Murder in this investigation, and the lead detective is still seeking tips through Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.

The motive for this crime appears to be drug-related.

 

Original, 11/01/2019: (Norcross, Georgia)  The GCPD Homicide Unit is investigating a suspicious death that occurred on Coleville Circle in unincorporated Norcross. 

Officers were dispatched to Building 18 of the Oakwood Vista Apartments in reference to a “person shot” call.  The call came in from a friend/relative who stated that they found the victim, a Hispanic male, deceased inside a ground floor apartment. 

Officers arrived on scene around 7am to find that the patio door had broken glass.  The victim was found in the bedroom suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.

The Homicide Unit, Crime Scene Unit, District Attorney’s Office, and the Medical Examiner’s Office were all notified.  Officers went door-to-door asking residents if they heard or saw anything that could be related to the crime. 

We heard from a tipster who said that the victim was possibly on the phone with another person at the time of the crime.  Detectives are waiting to corroborate this information.

The name of the victim is being withheld until his next-of-kin can be notified.
