MALE ARRESTED FOR INVOLUNTARY MANSLAUGHTER AFTER SHOOTING FRIEND
(Peachtree Corners, Ga., April 14, 2021) – The Gwinnett County Police Department arrested Jorge Ramirez (31 year old male from Norcross) for Involuntary Manslaughter after he shot a friend while they were riding in a car together on April 14th.
Police responded to 3466 Holcomb Bridge Road just after 1:30 AM and discovered the victim sitting in the front seat of a Ford Explorer. The victim had been shot one time and was deceased at the scene. Two other occupants were also on scene and met with detectives.
The other passengers of the vehicle told investigators that while they were driving down the roadway, Ramirez was in the back seat with a gun. Investigators believe he fired that gun and struck the victim, who was sitting in front of Ramirez.
Ramirez was taken to the Gwinnett County Jail after speaking with investigators. He was also charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The name of the victim is being withheld until the next of kin is notified.
