Man Canvases Convenience Store before Robbery

(Stone Mountain, Georgia)  The Robbery Unit is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in a unique convenience store robbery. On December 27, 2019 shortly after 3:00AM, officers responded to the QuikTrip, located at 5065 Stone Mountain Highway, in reference to robbery. Specifically, the suspect lingered inside the store for over 20 minutes before crawling under the security door, manipulating the safe and cash register, removing money from each, and then jumping back over the security door before fleeing. No one was harmed during this incident.

Witness testimony and video surveillance provided the following suspect description:

  • B/M, between 5’08” – 5’10” tall, 155 – 175 lbs., and 25 – 30 years of age.
  • Last seen wearing: black beanie, black jacket, khaki pants, black and white sandals

Based upon the preliminary investigation, it appears that the suspect could be an employee or former employee of an area QuikTrip based on his knowledge of how to bypass the security door without activating its alarm, and the ease in which he opened the safe and register. Additionally, the khaki pants worn by the suspect could possibly be the same kind that are issued to QuikTrip’s employees.
