(Norcross, Georgia)  At approximately 3:50 P.M., officers stopped a male for a minor traffic violation near the intersection of Oakbrook Parkway and Jimmy Carter Blvd.  While speaking with the male, he ran on foot from officers to the Horizon Inn & Suites (6187 Dawson Blvd; Norcross, GA 30093).  When the male got to the hotel, he ran inside one of the rooms and barricaded himself inside.  The male was armed with a knife and began making threats to harm himself.  Since the male refused to come out of the room, SWAT team members responded and began negotiating with the male to try and convince him to come out of the room.

At approximately 6:50 P.M., the male came out of the room and was placed under arrest and was evaluated by medical personnel.
