Suspect Makes Trial Purchase with Stolen Credit Card then Attempts Larger Purchase – Suspect Identified and Charged
Update #1, 0207/19: The suspect has been identified as Amber Lynn Dunlap (27) of Lehigh Acres, Florida. The lead detective was able to identify Amber and has taken out six felony warrants for her arrest. She is charged with Entering Auto, Financial Transaction Card Theft (2 counts), and Criminal Attempt to Commit a Felony (3 counts). She is also wanted by Covington Police Department and Athens-Clarke County Police Department. Amber’s exact whereabouts are unknown at this time. If anyone knows her whereabouts they are encouraged to call 9-1-1.
Original, 02/01/19: (Lawrenceville, Georgia) Gwinnett Police need the public’s help in identifying a suspect connected to a vehicle break-in and subsequent credit card fraud. On January 20 the victim’s vehicle was broken into while parked at Collins Hill Park. The victim’s purse and wallet were stolen. Shortly after the break-in, the victim’s stolen credit cards were used at Kroger located at 2121 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road in unincorporated Suwanee. The suspect first makes a small purchase for just over $10.00 to see if the card will go through. After it is accepted, the suspect attempts to purchase gift cards in excess of $1000.00. The suspect is seen leaving the parking lot in a white sedan, possibly a late model Toyota Corolla. This vehicle was also parked near the victim’s vehicle while it was at Collins Hill Park.
The suspect is described as a white female, possibly in her 30’s, approximately 5’4” – 5’6”, 180-200 pounds, and black hair. She was last seen wearing a black Adidas hoodie with a white Adidas logo on the front, black Adidas track pants with white stripes on the sides, and black shoes.
