2018 GWINNETT COUNTY PROPERTY TAX BILLS MAILED, DUE OCT. 15

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga., Aug. 8, 2018 – Tax Commissioner Richard Steele announced today that 2018 property tax bills are being mailed and are due Oct. 15. Taxpayers may view and pay their bills online today from any internet-connected device at GwinnettTaxCommissioner.com under “View/Pay Your Taxes.”

Property owners who signed up for paperless billing will receive their bills today via secure email; to receive paperless billing in the future sign up at GwinnettTaxCommissioner.com under “Paperless Billing”.

  • Online payments may be scheduled in advance with a single payment or partial payments, as long as the total is paid by the due date.
  • Paying online via check is simple, secure and incurs no added convenience fee.
  • Paying via debit card incurs a $3.95 fee and credit cards incur a 2.29 percent fee.
  • Payments may be mailed to P.O. Box 372, Lawrenceville, Georgia, 30046.
  • Payments by check may be placed in drop boxes 24/7 at any tag office.
  • Payments in person via cash, check, money order, debit card ($3.95) or credit card (2.29 percent) may be made during stated business hours at any Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner’s Office.

For property owners with escrow accounts, tax information will be made available to mortgage companies; however, property owners are responsible to ensure taxes are paid by the due date. Escrow account holders unsure about who is paying their property tax should contact their mortgage company directly.

For homes that were sold this year, both the former and current owners will receive a 2018 tax bill. Documents signed at closing determine who pays the taxes.
