ADVANCE VOTING IN GWINNETT CONTINUES THROUGH NOV. 2

Satellite voting will also be available Saturday, Oct. 27 (Lawrenceville, Ga., Oct. 26, 2018) – Advance voting for the Nov. 6 General Election continues in Gwinnett County through Friday, Nov. 2.

Advance voting has increased in popularity over the past three election cycles. During the first 10 days of advance voting in the 2018 General Election, 58,049 ballots have been cast, compared to 34,817 ballots cast in the first 10 days of advance voting during the 2016 General Election, and 11,435 ballots cast in the same time period during the 2014 General Election.

Elections supervisor Lynn Ledford said that wait times at each of the advance locations have averaged around 14 minutes. “Despite the record number of voters who have participated so far, many of our sites have operated for long periods of time with no wait. The longest wait time we’ve had is an hour and 15 minutes,” Ledford said. “We do expect wait times to increase as we get closer to Election Day, but our staff has done a great job of keeping the lines moving.”

Voters have one more week to cast their ballots before Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6. The main Elections Office, located at 455 Grayson Highway, Suite 200 in Lawrenceville, and all seven satellite voting locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27 and Monday through Friday, Oct. 29 through Nov. 2.
