COUNTY CONTRACTORS GET TO WORK ON CRUSE ROAD IMPROVEMENTS

(Lawrenceville, Ga., Sept. 13, 2018) – Silt fences and cleared right of way are early signs of the Gwinnett Department of Transportation’s construction project on Cruse Road.

Cruse Road is to be widened from two to four lanes with a center turn lane from Club Drive to Paden Drive and includes pedestrian improvements along both sides of Cruse Road. Intersection improvements and traffic signal upgrades will be installed at Club Drive, at Herrington Road/Bethesda School Road and at Paden Drive. Additional sidewalks will be installed along the north side of Cruse Road from Paden Drive to Country Oaks Court. Curb and gutter and drainage facilities are also included as part of the project.

Subcontractors for Peach State Construction Company, LLC, will first clear the right of way and install erosion control to make the area ready for the construction crews to follow. Peach State was the lowest of six responsive bids at $5,582,364.70.

The project, located in Commission District 4, spans just over a mile and is funded by the 2009, 2014 and 2017 SPLOST programs. For more information on this or other SPLOST-funded projects, please visit www.gwinnettcounty.com.
