COUNTY OFFICES CLOSED FOR MLK DAY HOLIDAY

WHAT: All Gwinnett County government offices, except for those services required for the comfort and safety of residents, will be closed in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. A Magistrate Court judge will be available at the Gwinnett County Detention Center during the holiday.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is not a trash and recycling holiday for solid waste providers in unincorporated Gwinnett County. The Gwinnett County Solid Waste Management Call Center will be closed that day, but hauler call centers will be open. Residents can visit www.GCSolidWaste.com to find their hauler’s contact information. Residents who live in a city should contact their city to find out if trash and recycling will be delayed due to the holiday.

Republic Services has resumed limited recycling services based on staff availability. The company will notify customers on the evening prior to recycling to inform customers that recycling will be picked up the next day. At this time, bulky item and yard waste pickup remains suspended to prioritize trash collection.

Waste Management has paused collection of yard waste and bulky item pickup in unincorporated Gwinnett County, also due to a limited workforce. Waste Management will prioritize trash and recycling services.

WHEN: County offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 17 and will reopen during normal business hours on Tuesday, Jan. 18.
