DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES CELEBRATES FIX A LEAK WEEK

(Lawrenceville, Ga., March 26, 2019) – Water leaks in the average home can account for more than 10,000 gallons in wasted water annually. The Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources encourages Gwinnett residents and businesses to hunt down their water drips throughout the year — especially during the Environmental Protection Agency’s Fix a Leak Week, March 18 – 24. DWR offered two workshops during Fix a Leak Week for residents to learn how to easily identify and stop leaks in their home. Licensed plumbers and water experts were on hand to answer common questions and demonstrate simple repairs.

DWR offers many other free workshops throughout the year. In April, DWR will host a household hazardous waste workshop as well as a workshop on lawn care with integrated pest management. Residents who missed Fix a Leak Week have another chance to attend the leak workshop in August.
