RABIES SHOTS TO BE OFFERED SATURDAY AT SOUTH GWINNETT PET FEST
(Lawrenceville, Ga., March 22, 2019) – Gwinnett County Animal Welfare and Enforcement is offering 500 free rabies vaccines at the inaugural South Gwinnett Pet Fest on Saturday at Lenora Park in Snellville. Additional vaccines and microchipping also will be available at discounted prices.
Shots are available from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. or as long as supplies last. Gwinnett Animal Welfare and Enforcement will feature a lure course that simulates the unpredictability of chasing live prey. The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office will sell BBQ starting at 11 a.m. Funnel cakes and Kona Ice will also be available. The sheriff’s K-9 Unit will show off their training and skills between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m.
The event kicks off with a Pack Walk, a 2-mile stroll around Lenora Park at 4515 Lenora Church Road at noon. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. Kids can enjoy inflatables, face painting, yard games, the Gwinnett Stripers Chopper, dog training demonstrations, and other activities. Pet-related vendors will be present as well.
