The Open Records Request Form may be used to request access to documents maintained by the department to inspect or obtain copies under the Georgia Open Records Act. This form is not required to request routinely available records such as agendas, minutes, plats, ordinances, and resolutions. Although Open Records Requests are not required to be submitted in writing, use of this form will aid considerably in ensuring that each request is fulfilled as accurately as possible. However for copies of Residential Plats (Surveys) and Final Subdivision Plats please call the Deeds and Records office at 770.822.8100. These documents are not available at the Department of Planning and Development. In addition, Gwinnett County does not maintain copies of Residential House Plans for homes that are less than 5,000 square feet of heated floor area in size. If your home is less than 5,000 square feet, please contact the home builder. Please call the Building Permits Section at 678.518.6020 for assistance.
