2045 Unified Plan
Gwinnett County is one of the fastest-growing counties in Georgia — and the most diverse. With your input, the 2045 Unified Plan will reflect the values of Gwinnett’s dynamic communities, unique cultures, and diverse needs and visions for a place where everyone thrives.

Planning Process
Though the primary focus of the planning process is on land use and future development, the 2045 Unified Plan will explore several components of a thriving place, including economic development, housing, transportation, infrastructure, community services, and more. We plan to test fresh ideas related to walkability, transportation, sustainability, housing options, and other topics to find out what works best for Gwinnett’s diverse communities. There will be opportunities to get involved in each part of the process.
Get Involved
The 2045 Unified Plan will gather residents, business leaders, and other stakeholders across Gwinnett to learn how the county has evolved since the last plan update.
Public engagement is integral to updating the County’s 2045 Unified Plan. A variety of public engagement opportunities will be woven into the planning process, including:
- Pop-up events: Fun, informal community-focused events where we hear from you!
- Workshops: Design-focused events with interactive activities and hands-on exercises to identify community development opportunities and priorities.
- Speaker series: Learn from experts about topics related to community planning, housing, walkability, and redevelopment.
- Open houses: Drop-in style sessions to review key findings, potential recommendations, and other project documents at your own pace, prior to final adoption of the plan by the Board of Commissioners.
- Online survey: Provide input on community priorities and your vision of the future for Gwinnett County.
