(Lawrenceville, Ga., Sept. 14, 2009) - District 4 Commissioner Kevin Kenerly will present a resolution of recognition to Marine Cpl. Charles Allen Leak during a meeting of the Board of Commissioners on Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. in the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center Auditorium, 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville.

Cpl. Leak has been in the Marines since January 2006. He was stationed in Afghanistan when he sustained bullet wounds in his left leg during an ambush on July 28 of this year. Leak received the Purple Heart for his service and good conduct and marksmanship awards. Leak is the son of Richard and Loraine Leak and has one sister, Abby. He is a 2005 graduate of Mill Creek High School in Dacula.

"I am proud of all the men and women, including Cpl. Charles Allen Leak, who risk their lives on my behalf and for every resident in Gwinnett County and the United States. We must never forget the price they pay every day for us to enjoy the freedoms that we share as citizens of this great nation," said Kenerly.
