(Lawrenceville, Ga., Nov. 15, 2012) – Gwinnett residents are invited to load their stacks of old confidential documents, unwanted electronics and tires and bring them to Gwinnett County’s America Recycles Day celebration this Saturday, Nov. 17. The Gwinnett County Solid Waste and Recovered Materials Division will offer free paper shredding, electronics ($10 cash charge for TVs) and tire recycling from 9 a.m. to noon at Coolray Field, home of the Gwinnett Braves.
In addition to the recycling opportunities, there will be touch-a-truck displays and activities for kids, free food (while supplies last), giveaways and helpful information about the County’s residential solid waste and recycling program. Organizers encourage residents to bring canned foods to fill local Salvation Army shelves.
“This event emphasizes the importance of a sustainable future for Gwinnett County by giving back to the environment as well as those in need,” said Tom Keith, Solid Waste and Recovered Materials Division director. For more information, visit www.sustainablegwinnett.com.
