Learn More(Lawrenceville, Ga., April 2, 2013) – Gwinnett County Parks & Recreation has planned the first ever Independent School Prom at the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse. This was in a direct response to the need to host a Prom for small, local independent schools in Gwinnett County. The Superior Court Ballroom of the Gwinnett Historic Courthouse in historic downtown Lawrenceville will be transformed into a magical Masquerade Ball complete with colorful, large scale masks throughout the room. A reception in the Gallery Hall starts off the evening where students from different schools will get to know each other, followed by a buffet style dinner served in the ballroom. Later, DJ Danny will lead students in fun, tasteful dance moves to the latest hip tunes. Individual, group or couple photos will be taken in front of a themed backdrop and mounted in keepsake photo cards for each student. As is the tradition with most proms, the evening will also include a crowning of a Prom King and Queen selected in advance by the students at their school.
The Independent School Prom is expected to be a fun rite of passage for the juniors and seniors in attendance and we are already looking forward to planning next year’s event! Gwinnett Historic Courthouse is located at 185 Crogan Street, Lawrenceville. Visit www.gwinnettparks.com for more information on this event and other events and activities.
