GWINNETT COUNTY DOT HOSTS DIVERGING DIAMOND INTERCHANGE RIBBON CUTTING

WHAT:  The Gwinnett County Department of Transportation will host a ribbon cutting for the Diverging Diamond Interchange at the Pleasant Hill Road bridge over I-85. The DDI at Pleasant Hill Road and I-85 is Gwinnett County’s first diverging diamond interchange and the second in Georgia.

WHO: County, state and federal government and Gwinnett Place CID officials will participate in the event.

WHEN: Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at 11:30 a.m.

WHERE:  The Jameson Inn located on the corner of Pleasant Hill Road and I-85, 1920 Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth.

To access the Jameson Inn from Southbound I-85, take the Pleasant Hill Road exit and turn right onto Pleasant Hill Road westbound.  The Jameson Inn parking lot is immediately on the right.  To access the Jameson Inn from I-85 northbound, take the Pleasant Hill Road exit and turn left onto Pleasant Hill Road westbound.  Go across the bridge over I-85, and the Jameson Inn will be immediately on the right.  Please note that drivers traveling eastbound on Pleasant Hill Road will not have direct access into the Jameson Inn parking lot.

WHY:  The Diverging Diamond project shifts traffic to the opposite side of the bridge, which makes left turns onto the interstate more efficient and improves the flow of traffic in the area.
