GWINNETT OFFICIALS CELEBRATE NEW SENIOR SERVICES CENTER KITCHEN

WHAT: Gwinnett County officials will host a ribbon cutting ceremony for the second phase of the Gwinnett Senior Services Center, a 12,000 square foot commercial kitchen. A tour of the new kitchen will also take place during the event.

The building addition accommodates meal preparation and packaging for four senior centers and home-delivered meals clients in Gwinnett County. The new kitchen offers staff the capacity to prepare 2,000 meals per day, tripling production. Funding for the $2.6 million facility was provided by the HUD Community Development Block Grant Entitlement funds.

WHO: The following officials will be speaking and participating in the ribbon cutting ceremony: Gwinnett County Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash; District 4 Commissioner John Heard; Deputy County Administrator Phil Hoskins; U.S. Rep. Rob Woodall; Ga. Sen. Renee Unterman; Costas Miskis, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services regional administrator; Mary Presley, HUD’s Office of Community Planning and Development director; Judy Waters, Community Foundation of Northeast Georgia executive director; and John Winters, Friends of Gwinnett County Senior Services president.
