GWINNETT OFFICIALS CELEBRATES OPENING OF SINGLETON PARK AND GREENWAY

(Lawrenceville, Ga., Oct. 14, 2025) – County officials cut the ribbon on Tuesday for Singleton Park and Greenway in Norcross, marking the completion of a project that transformed the former Singleton Road Activity Building into a new community space.

Located on Singleton Road, the park spans more than 2 acres and features a playground, a covered picnic area, restroom facilities, a 41-space parking lot and a ¾-mile,12-foot-wide concrete multiuse trail that connects Singleton Road to Dickens Road.

Gwinnett County Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson highlighted the positive impact the park will have on residents and surrounding communities.

“This park is a space for connection and community,” said Hendrickson. “With southwestern Gwinnett’s growth and increasing need for services and resources, the addition of this park reflects our belief that all residents deserve safe, peaceful and beautiful spaces to enjoy with their loved ones.”

The trail enhancement is part of the 2018 Gwinnett Trails Countywide Trails Master Plan’s initiative to link Norcross to Lilburn, offering residents improved access to outdoor recreation. Additionally, an internal loop trail connects to the surrounding neighborhood.

“This trail addition enhances the park’s amenities, encouraging healthy outdoor activity and creating a connection point for our community,” said District 2 Commissioner Ben Ku. “We’re proud to invest in a project that brings people closer to nature and each other.”

The project also features a 2,600-square-footmural conceptualized by local youth and community members, led by Art in Motion and artist Ken Dushane. Art in Motion received a Gwinnett Creativity Fund Placemaking Grant to complete the mural and beautify the space.

Additional features include new benches, picnic tables, lighting and landscaping. The playground also offers diverse play opportunities for children of all ages, including swings, climbing structures and an open play lawn.

Funding for the $6.4 million project included contributions from the 2017 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax program, the County’s Recreation Fund, the state of Georgia's Improving Neighborhood Outcomes and Disproportionately Impacted Communities Grant and a Community Development Block Grant.
