GWINNETT PARKS & RECREATION OBSERVES PARK AND RECREATION MONTH DURING JULY

(Lawrenceville, Ga., June 29, 2023) – Join Gwinnett County this July in the national celebration of Park and Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association since 1985. This year’s theme, “Where Community Grows”, highlights the role of parks and recreation in fostering stronger, more vibrant and more resilient communities. From an art show to an ice cream social, a variety of free or low-cost activities for all ages and abilities will be offered.

“We believe parks and recreation play an important role in supporting our vibrant community,” said Division Director Chris Minor. “From connecting residents with inclusive and equitable services, promoting historic and nature conservation, providing athletic, aquatic, educational and recreational experiences to maintaining safe parks, we strive to help our community thrive.”

NRPA and Gwinnett Parks and Recreation encourage everyone to share their personal experiences of how parks and recreation have positively impacted their quality of life using the hashtag #WhereCommunityGrows.
