LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS INVITED TO SUBMIT PROJECTS FOR GWINNETT GREAT DAYS OF SERVICE

(Lawrenceville, Ga., July 14, 2026) – Community organizations, nonprofits, schools, faith-based organizations and community leaders across Gwinnett are invited to submit service project proposals for this year’s Great Days of Service, an annual initiative that mobilizes thousands of volunteers in a single weekend of hands-on community service.

Hosted each October, Gwinnett Great Days of Service brings together volunteers of all ages to complete service projects that strengthen the local community, support neighbors and families and improve shared spaces.

The County is building a lineup of volunteer projects and is calling on local groups to identify needs that volunteer teams can help meet.

“We’re stronger as a community when we act with intention. Gwinnett Great Days of Service allows organizations to open their doors and invites volunteers from all walks of life to roll up their sleeves and make a difference,” said Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson. “This event is one of the most effective ways for organizations to connect with supporters and tackle meaningful projects together.”

The County is accepting project submissions through Friday, Sept. 11. Organizations are encouraged to submit projects that address a clear community need, offer tasks suitable for volunteers of varying ages and abilities, can be completed in two to four hours, and provide a safe, accessible environment. Selected projects will receive volunteer recruitment support and guidance from the event coordinators.
