Man Found Guilty after Luring Teen to Car for Sexual Assault

LAWRENCEVILLE – A Lawrenceville man was sentenced to life in prison for sexually assaulting a teenaged girl.

Jonathan Jaistron Williams, 43, was found guilty of aggravated child molestation, statutory rape, and child molestation for the September 2022 incident. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole and was ordered to register as a child sex offender.

“We hope this verdict and sentence helps this victim recover from the trauma the defendant inflicted on her,” District Attorney Patsy Austin-Gatson said.

Williams met the girl at a Suwanee restaurant where he worked. The verdict came after jurors heard evidence that Williams lured the girl out of her home and sexually assaulted her in a car in Sugar Hill. The jury also heard evidence that Williams had previously been convicted of statutory rape for sexually assaulting another girl in Savannah.

Special Victims Unit Managing Assistant District Attorney Megan Matteucci and SVU Assistant District Attorney Mikaela Henderson prosecuted the case with assistance from SVU Investigator Jessica Pironis and SVU Victim Witness Advocate Esther Askew. The Gwinnett County Police Department provided invaluable assistance in closing the case.
