Gwinnett County’s Communications Department is celebrating national recognition for its outstanding storytelling and community outreach efforts. The team earned multiple honors at the 2025 Savvy Awards, presented by the City-County Communications and Marketing Association (3CMA).
The Savvy Awards highlight the best in local government communications across the country, and Gwinnett shined in several categories:
- Savvy Winner (First Place): Gwinnett County Glass Recycling – Go Green Communication Program Efforts
- Savvy Winner (First Place): Upfront Gwinnett: The Hidden Homeless – Interview/Talk Show/News Programming (100,000+ population)
- Silver Circle (Second Place): Transit Referendum Social Media Campaign – Best Use of Social Media (650,000+ population)
- Award of Excellence (Third Place): 2025 Adopted Budget Video – Video – Education and Training (250,000+ population)
- Award of Excellence (Third Place): Gwinnett Parks and Recreation 2024 NRPA Gold Medal Finalist Video – Video – One-Time Special Programming (225,000+ population)
“These recognitions show how hard our team works to make complex topics easy to understand and to tell Gwinnett’s story in ways that truly connect with people,” said Communications Director Joe Sorenson.
Judges praised Gwinnett’s work for its innovation, community impact and compelling storytelling, noting that the County’s programs set a high bar for large cities and counties across the nation.
The Savvy Awards program is hosted annually by 3CMA, the nation’s leading association for local government communicators.
