Three things to do this weekend in Gwinnett

Attending an event for Older Americans Month, donating to deserving students, and joining a teen art program are just a few things to do in Gwinnett this weekend. 

Check out these events happening Friday, May 22 through Sunday, May 24

Learn how to prevent falls 
Residents ages 50 and up can attend Get in the Know, a special Older Americans Month event focused on fall prevention. Join us on Friday, May 22 to learn about topics geared toward seniors at the George Pierce Park Community Recreation Center. From 11:00am to 1:00pm, enjoy a presentation, discussion, and light refreshments. 

This event is free for Gwinnett residents.

Donate school supplies to kids in need 
Gwinnett Police is hosting a Back-to-School Supply Drive to provide students with the supplies they need to start the 2026 to 2027 school year. Donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm until Monday, July 20 at the Gwinnett Police Headquarters and at all Gwinnett County Police Precinct lobbies.

Join a one-of-a-kind art class 
Teens ages 12 to 18 can discover their creativity in a supportive, fun, and inspiring environment at Special Hearts Teen Art on Saturday, May 23. This unique art program is specially designed for teens with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  

From 10:00am to 11:30am, attendees can explore techniques while painting animals, landscapes, and portraits at Pinckneyville Park Community Recreation Center.  

This event costs $16 per person. Registration is required. All skill levels are welcome.
