Qualifying for political party candidates, independent candidates, and nonpartisan candidates will begin Monday, March 2, 2026, at 9:00am and will end on Friday, March 6, 2026, at noon.

Nomination petitions for candidates qualifying as independent candidates are due to be submitted beginning at 9:00am on Monday, June 22, 2026. The last day to submit a nomination petition is Tuesday, July 14, 2026, by noon.

Those who wish to qualify as a party candidate for Gwinnett County offices must do so with the Gwinnett County Democratic Party or the Gwinnett County Republican Party. For information

Those who wish to qualify to be candidates in the Nonpartisan General Election will qualify at the office of the Gwinnett County Board of Voter Registrations and Elections, located at 455 Grayson Highway, Suite 200, Lawrenceville, 30046.
