Park Ordinances & Rules
Our goal is a fun and safe environment appropriate for children and families. We ask that our patrons behave courteously by following park rules and park ordinances.
Park Rules
- Fires are restricted to park grills and fire rings unless otherwise posted or approved
- All pets must be on a leash, except in designated dog park areas
- Place animal waste in trash containers
- Vehicles and parking are restricted to designated areas and by recreation facility users only
- No amplified sound, except by permit
- Pyrotechnics and engine powered models or toys are restricted
- Caution – Pedestrians have the right-of-way
- Launching hot air balloons and hobby rockets is restricted
- Commercial activity is restricted. It is unlawful to offer items for sale except by permit
- Swimming, bathing and wading prohibited unless in areas designated for such use
- County parks are for everyone to enjoy. Do not deface, destroy or remove plants or County property
- Georgia Bicycle Helmet Law (OCGA 40-6-296) is enforced
- Feeding or harassment of wildlife is prohibited
- Call 911 for emergency assistance
Prohibited in parks:
- Littering
- Throwing objects
- Annoying noises
- Possession, use or consumption of alcoholic beverages
Playground Rules
- Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times
- No pets allowed at the playground area
- All playgrounds are tobacco-free play zones
- Please use playground components that are appropriate for the age and ability of the child
- Skateboards or roller blades are prohibited on the playground
- Please report damaged or unsafe items to Parks and Recreation at 678.277.0931

All rules are enforceable under the law.
- Use dog park at your own risk – please do not use dog park during inclement weather
- Limit 50 people in each area
- Dogs must display current rabies tag
- Keep all gates closed
- You are responsible for any damage or injury caused by your dog. Gwinnett County shall not be held liable for any injury or damage caused by a dog
- Dogs should be under voice command
- Dog owners must remain with their dog at all times
- Always clean up after your dog, place litter and animal waste in trash containers
- Owner must fill all holes made by their dog
- Limit two dogs per owner
- Unruly or rough playing dogs must be immediately removed from the play area
- Call Gwinnett Animal Welfare & Enforcement at 770.339.3200 with questions or concerns about dogs using the dog park
Prohibited in the dog park:
- Aggressive dogs
- Dogs in heat
- Dogs with contagious conditions or illnesses
- Spike or pinch/prong collars
- Unsupervised children
- Food – human or animal
- Glass containers
- Commercial activity without a permit issued by Gwinnett Parks and Recreation
- Tobacco, alcohol, or illegal drugs
- Abandonment of dogs per Gwinnett County Ordinance Section 10-9:
It shall be unlawful for anyone to knowingly abandon or to aid in the abandonment of any domestic animal. An animal relinquished through written agreement with the animal welfare division, licensed rescue group, licensed shelter, licensed veterinarian, individual, or other entity shall not be deemed abandoned but shall be considered relinquished to the entity or individual.

To create a safe and enjoyable experience for both patrons and staff, Parks and Recreation encourages patrons to read and abide by the following rules.
General
- Organized groups with more than 10 people (25 guests maximum) must make a reservation (reservations don’t include exclusive use)
- Parks and Recreation doesn’t lifeguard or staff the splash pad (use at your own risk)
- Visitors may enjoy the splash pad for free during open hours
- Visitors should call 911 for emergencies
- Visitors can call 678.277.0931 to report maintenance issues
- Must not enter the splash pad if they have an infectious or communicable disease, open/bandaged sores, blisters, ear/nasal discharge, or diarrhea (currently or within the last two weeks)
- Dispose of trash in the designated receptacles
- Children must:
- Have their diapers changed in the restrooms
- Be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years old
- Ages 0 to 6 = one adult for every three children
- Ages 7 to 10 = one adult for every 10 children
Attire
Visitors who enjoy the splash pad must wear appropriate swimwear. Children not potty trained must wear a swim diaper and plastic or vinyl cover under their swimwear.

Day care/school groups:
- Adults must explain and help enforce all pool rules
- Non-Gwinnett resident groups (includes all adults and children within the group) may only visit after 4:00pm
- Children must be accompanied by an adult in the water during open swim and on the deck during adult swim, and must visit the bathroom and concessions one at a time or be accompanied by an adult as a group
- 1 – 10 children = one adult
- 11 – 20 children = two adults
- 21 – 30 children = three adults
- 31 – 40 children = four adults
- 41 – 50 children = five adults
- 51 – 60 children = six adults

- Shortcuts or new trails prohibited
- Horses must be controlled at all times

- Proof of current Coggins required on all horses in park
- Horses shall always be attended, tie only in designated areas
- Horses prohibited in pavilions
- Move all hay and manure from parking area to compost
- Place hay and manure in compost bin
- Call 911 for emergency help

Warning: Skateboarding and skating are hazardous recreational activities. Use of this facility may result in death, paralysis, brain damage, concussion, broken bones, or other serious injuries. Use at your own risk. Gwinnett County does not assume any responsibilities for injuries.
- This facility is not supervised. Use at your own risk
- Children 15 and younger are required to wear strapped helmet at all times
- All users should wear helmets, wrist guards, knee, and elbow pads
- All organized events must obtain a Gwinnett Parks and Recreation permit
- The property are here for everyone's enjoyment. Please assist in keeping this area clean
- Call 911 for emergency assistance or to report illegal activities
Prohibited in the skate park:
- Alcohol and tobacco products
- Introduction of other elements or altering existing elements in the skate park area
- Food, drinks and glass containers
- Pets
- Bicycles (Unless within skate parks designated for bicycle use) and motor driven equipment
- Profanity and fighting
- Amplified sound, except by permit
Trail Rules
- Trails open from sunrise to sunset
- No motorized vehicles
- Motorized personal mobility devices permitted
- Pedestrians have the right-of-way
- Bike and skate speeds must be controlled to prevent unsafe conditions
- Keep right of center and pass on left
- Announce yourself as you approach from behind. Example: "On your left!"
- If you stop, get off the trail
- All pets must be on a leash and kept right of center. Place animal waste in trash containers
