Lisamarie N. Bristol assumed the role of Gwinnett County Solicitor General on January 1, 2023.
Midway through the year, the solicitor’s office has accomplished several goals and multiple processes have been streamlined under Solicitor Bristol’s leadership to efficiently serve the county.

Assistant Solicitor General
- Nearly fully staffed after hiring 11 attorneys
- Implemented vertical prosecution
- Attorneys received training through the Prosecuting Attorneys Council of Georgia
- Implemented regular training sessions for attorneys to ensure that current and best practices are in place

Trial Assistants
- Increased trial assistants to two assistants per division
- Upgraded court forms to carbonless copies
- Increased overall training of bench warrants, accusations, Georgia Crime Information Center-Computerized Criminal History, bond forfeiture calendars, and subpoenas

Investigations
- Increased staffing of qualified criminal investigators
- Transitioned to vertical prosecution teams and division assignments
- Transitioned to using case management systems
- Expanded specialization in Family Violence Investigations
- Expanded specialization in SVU Investigations
- Expanded specialization in Vehicular Homicide Investigations
- Developed progressive partnerships with several local law enforcement agencies related to joint trainings in effort to move to a more unified high standard of service
- Implemented and completed life-saving division mandates for CPR/AED responder and “Stop the Bleed” trainings and techniques under the instruction of the Gwinnett Fire Department
- Developed and implemented best practices in criminal investigations through trainings, policy, procedure, and protocols
- Developed and implemented an active threat protocol
- Developed and implemented an emergency management response plan
- Participated and partnered with the Gwinnett County Sexual Abuse and Child Abuse Protocol Multi-Disciplinary Team

Victim Witness Program
- Hired and trained three full-time victim witness advocates to include an advocate assigned to the new Division 7 team
- Assigned a victim advocate to handle animal welfare cases in Recorder’s Court
- Created victim notification letters in English and Spanish
- Collaborated with Partnership Against Domestic Violence to assist victims filing temporary protective orders
- Completed lethality assessment training
- Completed safety planning training with Partnership Against Domestic Violence

Community Outreach
- Held Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month events in February
- Held a Women’s History Month donation drive for local women’s shelters
- Donated to Partnership Against Domestic Violence, Women’s Resource Center to End Domestic Violence and Home of Hope
- Attended Georgia State University’s Student Victim Assistance Survivor’s Brunch during Sexual Assault Awareness Month to honor and support survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence
- Observed National Crime Victims’ Rights Week with a resource event along with Mothers Against Drunk Driving Georgia State Office and Partnership Against Domestic Violence
- Observed Denim Day during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week in support of sexual assault survivors
- Attended the Fulton County Solicitor’s Office Victims' Rights Day at the Capitol during National Crime Victims’ Rights Week
