Budget review meetings took place in late summer, near the end of the County's annual budget planning cycle. Representatives from departments and agencies present their business plans and proposed budgets to Commission Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson and members of the budget review team, which includes several Gwinnett residents and County staff. Hendrickson invited six residents to help review needs and allocate resources for the 2024 budget.
Four committee members, Hilda Abbott, David Cuffie, Michelle Kang, and Asif Jessani, are veterans. New to the committee were Michael L. Park and Ronald S. Skeete.
The Chairwoman’s proposed 2024 budget was made available to the public and news media after being presented to commissioners in November. A public hearing on the budget was held in December. By County ordinance, the Board of Commissioners must adopt the annual budget during its first meeting in January.
