The Task Force will be representative of the County’s diverse and vibrantly connected community, and members of the Task Force should represent a variety of viewpoints, interests, and community segments so that the Task Force may collectively represent the interests of Gwinnett County. The Task Force shall be composed of ten (10) members:
- One member appointed by the Commission Chairwoman
- One member appointed by District 1 Commissioner
- One member appointed by District 2 Commissioner
- One member appointed by District 3 Commissioner
- One member appointed by District 4 Commissioner
- One member recommended by Superintendent of Gwinnett County Public Schools
- One member recommended by Gwinnett County CID’s
- Gwinnett County Chief of Police, or designee
- One member representing a local non-profit homelessness service provider
- One member representing a local healthcare/behavioral health provider
Task Force members that are recommended or representative shall be confirmed by staff from the Department of Planning and Development and the Department of Community Services for eligibility and coordination purposes.

Meetings to be determined. Task Force meetings will occur monthly and will be open to the public. A quorum of the members shall be present in order for the Task Force to conduct business. Five members shall constitute a quorum. The Task Force shall follow the Georgia Open Meetings Act and Robert’s Rules of Order in the conduct of meetings.
Members shall be residents of Gwinnett County. Task Force members that are recommended or representative shall be confirmed by staff from the Department of Planning and Development and the Department of Community Services for eligibility and coordination purposes.
The Task Force shall:
- Serve as community representatives and provide feedback to the County on the impacts of homelessness and housing instability on residents, businesses, public spaces, and individuals experiencing homelessness, while helping identify coordinated and compassionate response strategies
- Review data related to homelessness, housing, and other related measures
- Assess models and best practices to address gaps in service coordination
- Focus efforts on addressing impacts in commercial corridors and public spaces through collaborative partnership and outreach strategy
- Identify existing and new public and private assets and resources
- Evaluate estimated cost and resource needs for identified alternative approaches
- Adopt a practical recommendations report that provides prioritized short-term and long term recommendations
