The ITS Infrastructure Operations Division is responsible for managing, maintaining, and delivering radio frequency, voice, and data services across various technologies, including cloud computing, Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN), network firewalls, Storage Area Network (SAN), telecommunications, collaboration tools, video surveillance, physical plants, and land mobile radio (LMR) systems. These technologies enhance communication between users, processes, applications, and external networks, including the Internet. To ensure a strong technology foundation for the County’s business operations, this division collaborates closely with the ITS Service Operations, Cybersecurity, and Enterprise Application Divisions. The ITS Infrastructure Operations Division is comprised of the Enterprise Platforms, Network Services, and Technical Services teams. These teams are committed to maintaining a reliable, secure, and efficient technology backbone in the face of evolving challenges.

 

Enterprise Platforms

The Enterprise Platforms team oversees the core infrastructure that forms the backbone of our technological ecosystem. This includes managing and optimizing compute & storage, data backup network, firewalls, data centers, and other critical components. By leveraging cutting-edge technologies, the team ensures the robustness and scalability of the infrastructure to meet the evolving demands of the organization.

 

Network Services

The Network Services team is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the network edge infrastructure. This includes managing all routers and switches at remote sites, Cisco Voice over IP phone systems, Audio & Video solutions, and video surveillance systems. They ensure reliable and efficient communication closets, supporting seamless connectivity across the county. The team also oversees the Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems, which provide critical radio frequency support to first responders and essential business operations.

 

Technical Services

The Technical Services team oversees daily operations of the IT infrastructure, including the management of Microsoft systems and on-premises (both physical and virtual) server environments, as well as Azure system administration. They ensure the smooth functioning of all infrastructure components, including the seamless operation of Microsoft Azure cloud services. Their responsibilities include troubleshooting, security vulnerability patching, maintenance, and ongoing improvements to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
